Between 1996 and 1998 the main production facility of the Höchst AG in Frankfurt-Höchst was transformed into an industrial park operated by InfraServ GmbH & Co. On these premises Fluorchemie GmbH Frankfurt acquired and began running the R22 manufacturing plant. The plant is operated by LII Europe GmbH, which emerged from the Business Line Chlor of the Höchst AG.

The main product, R22, is used by other chemical firms for the production of technical synthetics, above all for polytetrafluoroethylene. This has applications in corrosion protection, heat resistant household appliances, breathable fabrics and many more. The Höchst industrial park has an excellent infrastructure. The manufacturing plant is connected by pipelines to other firms in the surroundings, permitting the straightforward and reliable supply and removal of raw materials, finished products and alternative sources of energy.
